Will Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 keep its launch date of 22 July?

Samsung Galaxy Watch has a round face, watch hand shadowing and a ticking sound, lending it the look and feel of a real watch. For a while now rumours about the launch of Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 have been doing the rounds. The company, though, maintained resolute silence about it.

Recently, speculation started building up again that the Korean mobile phone brand will introduce this much-awaited smartwatch before the official launch date of 22nd July, 2020. The reason?

MySmartPrice noticed that the company had published support pages for Samsung Galaxy Watch, under the SM-R845F and SM-R850F model numbers. These pages were shortly pulled down, but not before netizens were whipped into frenzy.

Incidentally, popular ‘phone leaker’ Evan Blass  posted a promo video of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 on his Twitter account. He had also revealed that one could expect nine models under this series, with a price range of ₹ 30,000 to ₹45,000. With smartwatches gaining popularity, and Samsung leading the smartphone market, it is expected that there will be many takers for the product – slowdown, be damned.

While one could not see the product completely in the video posted by Blass, it did give a sneak peek into some of its features. One of these include a Weather app, while the Heart symbol indicated that it also had a heart-rate monitor along with a step counter. A notification centre with smartphone connectivity are a given in this stylish gadget and the video gives a glimpse of a music player, and battery charge indicator.

The company has designed the watch with 41mm and 45mm stainless steel casing, depending on the variant purchased. This is ensconced by a 22mm black leather band, which gives it the look and feel of a real watch. Max Weinbach from XDA Developers had revealed that Samsung was pushing the design envelope with this smartwatch by coming up with new watch faces.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3’s predecessor too has a round face, watch hand shadowing and a ticking sound. Users don’t need to press any button or turn the bezel to see the time; they can just set the sAMOLED display to show at all times. It also features a music player with on-board storage along with a personal trainer and heart monitor that gauge six different activities. Needless to say, the new model is expected to have all of these and more.
