Samsung reduces prices of Galaxy phones

The price reduction of Galaxy A71, Galaxy A31, Galaxy A51, Galaxy M01s and Galaxy M01 Core make them lucrative gifting options during the festive season.

Samsung has reduced the prices of several models in the Galaxy A and Galaxy M smartphones series. It is speculated that this move will encourage Indian customers to buy these phones during the upcoming festive season, which is when sales of mobiles sees a spike.

In the Galaxy A series, Galaxy A71 is now available at Rs 29,499, down from Rs 30,999, while Galaxy A51 is on sale at Rs 22,999 for the 6GB variant. The price of Galaxy A31 has been brought down to Rs 18,999, while Galaxy A21s is now on offer at Rs 14,999 for the 4GB variant.

Samsung recently introduced Galaxy M51, its most powerful and premium M Series smartphone for the tech savvy millennial and Gen Z consumers. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, the company claimed that it is India’s first smartphone with 7000mAh battery and comes with best-in-segment 6.7” sAMOLED Plus Infinity-O display for immersive viewing experience. It also features a Sony 64MP Quad Camera with Single Take feature.

“Galaxy M series is becoming one of the largest and fastest growing smartphone brand franchises in India, by crossing $3.5 billion in gross merchandise value (GMV) by the end of 2020 (less than two years of its launch). This is testimony to the enormous popularity of the M Series smartphones that have been designed ground-up for the young Indian millennials that prefer to shop online,” said Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President, Samsung India.

MORE PRICE DROPS

In its budget Galaxy M phone series, Galaxy M01s is now available at Rs 9,499, while the price of Galaxy M01 Core has been reduced to Rs 4,999 for the 1GB variant. This price drop make these two products an ideal gifting option during the festive season, especially amongst corporates.

Incidentally, Samsung isn’t the only smartphone company that has revised its prices to boost sales over the next few months, when it is expected that consumers will be more willing to spend on digital products. OnePlus, too, dropped the price of OnePlus 7T Pro by Rs 4000. However, this price change has been effected only on the 8GB and 256GB storage variants. The price of the upscale Mclaren edition remains unchanged.
