India, get set to welcome Redmi 9 on 27th August
Xiaomi has revealed that it will introduce the much-awaited Redmi 9 smartphone on 27th August in India. The company announced this via a tweet, which directed users to a microsite dedicated to the smartphone’s launch and its specifications.
It is expected that the upcoming Redmi 9 will share the specifications of Redmi 9A or Redmi 9C, which was launched in Malaysia this June. According to the microsite, the smartphone, which is 9 mm thick and weighs 196g, includes an AI dual rear camera setup and will feature MIUI 12, which is the OS that powers the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro.
The smartphone has a 6.53” HD+ Dot Drop display with 20:9 aspect ratio and 400 nit brightness. The 720 x 1,600 pixels screen supports colour temperature adjustment, standard mode, reading mode and sunlight mode.
Redmi 9’s triple camera setup includes a 13 MP primary camera, 2 MP macro camera, and 2 MP depth sensor and a 5 MP selfie camera with screen flash. Featuring MediaTek Helio G25 SoC, it comes with two storage options – 2GB/3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB. It also has a dedicated microSD card slot and packs a 5000 mAh battery with 10W charging support.
